Building Maintenance Summary

The Building Maintenance function at Islamic Foundation North (IFN) ensures that all facilities remain clean, functional, safe, and welcoming for worship, education, and community activities. This team supports the day‑to‑day operations of the masjid and oversees long‑term upkeep of the property.

Core Responsibilities

Facility Upkeep
  • Perform routine inspections of the masjid, classrooms, offices, and common areas.
  • Address repairs for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards throughout the facility, including prayer halls, restrooms, and event spaces.
Preventive Maintenance
  • Schedule and track regular servicing of HVAC systems, boilers, alarms, and other critical equipment.
  • Monitor building systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure long-term reliability.
  • Maintain logs and documentation for all maintenance activities.
Grounds and Exterior Care
  • Oversee landscaping, snow removal, and parking lot maintenance.
  • Ensure walkways, entrances, and outdoor areas remain safe and accessible.
  • Manage signage, lighting, and exterior fixtures.
Vendor and Contractor Coordination
  • Work with licensed professionals for specialized repairs or major projects.
  • Obtain quotes, schedule work, and verify completion of contracted services.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety regulations.
Event and Program Support
  • Prepare rooms and spaces for classes, programs, and community events.
  • Set up and maintain furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Provide on‑site support during large gatherings such as Jumu’ah and Ramadan activities.
