Security and Safety Summary
Overview
The Security and Safety function at Islamic Foundation North (IFN) is dedicated to protecting the well-being of congregants, staff, volunteers, and visitors. This team ensures that IFN remains a safe, welcoming, and resilient environment for worship, education, and community activities.
Facility Security
Monitor entrances, parking lots, and high-traffic areas to maintain secure environment.
Coordinate with local law enforcement for patrols, emergency response, and community safety initiatives.
Oversee access control systems, including keys, badges, and restricted areas.
Emergency Preparedness
Develop and maintain emergency response plans for fire, medical incidents, severe weather, and security threats.
Conduct regular safety drills and training for staff and volunteers.
Ensure emergency exits, alarms, and safety equipment are functional and compliant with regulations.
Community Safety Support
Provide guidance and support during large events such as Jumu’ah, Ramadan programs, and community gatherings.
Assist with crowd management, traffic flow, and parking safety.
Offer safety education to the community, including awareness and preparedness workshops.
Incident Response
Respond promptly to safety concerns, accidents, or suspicious activity.
Document incidents and coordinate follow-up actions when necessary.
Maintain communication protocols for rapid response and escalation.
Technology and Surveillance
Manage security cameras, monitoring systems, and related technology.
Ensure recordings are stored securely and accessible only to authorized personnel.
Evaluate and upgrade systems to enhance coverage and reliability.
Goals

Foster a culture of awareness and shared responsibility within the community.

Note: All work is done by volunteers. Assistance is needed in several areas, such as, lawn maintenance, food service, cleaning service, building/maintenance, website maintenance, fundraising events, school activities, social activities, etc. For volunteering, please send an email message using this website or fill out the volunteer form and submit to the Office at IFN.
