Quran and Arabic Curriculum

At IFN Sunday School, students are taught the following subject areas:

  1. Quran/Arabic: in which students learn to read the Quran for younger grades with tajweed and memorize some surahs and their meanings. For higher grades, the focus is more on surah memorization, understanding and tafseer rather than learning to read the Quran.
  2. Islamic Studies: in which students are educated on Islamic Fiqh, Aqaai'd (values and beliefs), adaab (mannerisms), and akhlaq (character and etiquettes)
  3. Islamic History: in which students learn about the stories of prophets, seerah of Prophet Muhammad SAW, Khulafa Ar-Rashidin and companions of Prophet Mohammad SAW.

IFN Sunday School also holds several special events for students/families every year including:

  1. Surah Memorization
  2. Qirat Competition,
  3. Quiz Competition
  4. Art Exhibition
  5. Pre-K and Kindergarten Eid/Ramadan Room Parties with Islamic Crafts
  6. Field Day Celebration at the end of School Year
  7. End of the year 8th grade Graduation and Awards Ceremony

We will continue to embed technology tools to facilitate learning both inside and outside of the classroom. Our teachers will be using Google Classroom as the home-school connection to post assignments, homework and announcements etc. Although we love to see our students in person, however, in the case of inclement weather or emergency school closing, our teachers will be prepared to switch to remote learning if needed.
